Bio

Celine Rice

Although I grew up in Northern California, I was lucky enough to have spent much of my childhood traveling and living in other countries.   Both of my parents were high school teachers who placed great importance on getting to know other countries and cultures.  These experiences have greatly shaped who I am today.   Now I am happily settled with my own family in Grass Valley.   My husband and I have two beautiful boys ages eleven and thirteen.

I studied International Relations,  and got my Bachelors degree in Political Science in 2006.  I have been a substitute teacher at Nevada City School of the Arts for the last two years and a very active parent volunteer for the last five years.  I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best preschool, kindergarten and first grade teachers and I have learned a great deal about classroom management and child development from them.

Prior to having children, I cooked professionally for eight years. I love to cook and pride myself on providing nutritious meals for my family.

I have had no greater joy than raising my boys.  I loved the preschool years that were filled with song, art, nature and books.  Now that my boys are grown, I greatly enjoy the time I get to spend back in that world.
